This is a video that constitutes my Major Research Project in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning degree.

Communities in North America are not optimized for human use. The solution to this is urban planners becoming more aware of ergonomics in creating plans for communities, as well as prioritizing human experience above non-human tools or systems in their decision-making. To become Ergonomic Urbanists, we must strive to do good work aesthetically, integrate universal design principles, and learn to notice when we’ve stopped designing for people and started designing for things. An interdisciplinary approach to understanding is used to help achieve this goal. It is discussed in detail how we can build our understanding of people through examining principles, practices, and frameworks from a variety of disciplines like: industrial design, UX, UI, sculpture, and game design. As well as aspects of psychology, neuroscience, and management practices as applicable.
